  Half-Term Revision

Taking exams can be an anxious time for students and parents alike and at Excel in Science we aim to minimise stress by preparing all our students to sit their exams confidently. Our additional Half-Term Revision Course will improve students’ chances of securing higher grades in the summer examination in the vital subjects of Maths, Chemistry, Physics Biology and English.

The May Half-Term Revision is one of our intensive revision programmes.Classes take place just before the start of the summer AS and A2 examinations and these revision sessions can prove vital in equipping a student to improve by one grade or more.
These sessions can be instrumental in helping to pick up those extra few marks. At this stage students have covered all the material required for each subject and they have been revising mainly by themselves.

These revision sessions provide an opportunity to reassure students and to allay their fears and anxieties in areas in which they have doubts. Tutors place much emphasis on reinforcing salient points and obvious mistakes which are often costly for students in securing those extra marks. Teaching of key aspects of the specification (syllabus) for each subject is followed by examination practice. Exam technique is a crucial aspect of this.

We are very proud to see that many of our students have significantly benefited from these revision sessions. Over 80% of students who enrolled on our intensive revision programmes have achieved more highly in examinations than their school initially predicted and we are confident in the ability of our highly competent and professional teachers to continue to deliver the high standards we are accustomed to.
