One-to-one teaching

For one-to-one teaching, each student is expected to book classes in blocks of seven sessions and a minimum of one block. The student spends about 2½ to 3 hours with the subject teacher each Saturday. For about 1½ hours of this, he/she is given individual attention on his/her particular area(s) of need. The student spends the rest of the time practising other skills or attempting examination-type questions.

The fee for the nine Saturday sessions is £740. The fee is a little cheaper in cases where there are two or three students studying the same material.

General information about fees

All our fees include free Exercise books, Revision Guides and past examination papers.

All cheques should be made payable to Excel in Science. Alternatively, you can pay by: BACS - bank transfer; cash directly through any branch of the HSBC bank (see our account details below) or by Standing order.

A deposit of £250 per student has to be paid in order to reserve a place. A sum of £200 of this forms part of the fee. The remaining £50 is refunded at the end of the academic year or when the student leaves. The remainder of the fee is payable before the first day of attendance. These are the fees per term and there are 9 Saturday sessions in a term. The fee for the first term of attendance has to be paid in full. Students can pay the fee for subsequent terms in instalments by standing order.

Parents with two students will receive a discount of 5% provided each student takes two or more subjects. There is a substantial discount for students who register for both the Saturday and the Easter Revision.
